| AMENDED - LANCE SHEEN COMP - 1 day only! |
Hi EDPL Members,
** SUNDAY 31ST MAY – 1 DAY ONLY! – Qualifying Round-Robin AND Knock-out Finals.
After discussion at Monday night’s EDPL Exec Meeting, it has been decided to change the Lance Sheen Memorial Singles Tournament to 1 DAY ONLY this year, to be held on SUNDAY 31ST MAY (instead of 2 days).
This decision was based on a few reasons… venue availability, full calendar, and feedback from members… many who have difficulty attending a 2-day competition over an entire weekend.
Please find attached AMENDED Lance Sheen Memorial Singles Tournament 2026 Invite letter.
(Flyer, Invite Letter, Entry Form is on EDPL Website & has been emailed to all clubs' Execs).
To be held at POCKETS MOORABBIN
– DOORS OPEN 8:00AM, PLAY STARTS 9:00AM !!
Please ask your members if they’d like to enter, all club entrants must be listed on the club’s entry form, due by 4pm Tuesday 26th May.
Players must be registered in EDPL 2026 Winter Season to enter this tournament, & played in minimum 50% of matches available since registered.

| Reminder - PlayHQ Affiliation Fees |
ALL current EDPL members should have paid their 2026 Pool Victoria & AEBF Affiliation Fees via PlayHQ.
As discussed at the Delegates Meeting lastnight, players have up til the end of this week, 4:30pm Friday 15th May, to have paid their 2026 Affiliation Fees, otherwise they are deemed to be "unfinancial", and therefore NOT eligible to play EDPL.
Clubs who are of concern were notified lastnight, of how many of their members are/not affiliated.
Please ensure your members pay this year's Affiliation via PlayHQ by this Friday!

| Reminders - playing order & breaking ! |
Another reminder re: playing order & breaking.
All EDPL scoresheets have the playing order, and the "BREAK" is determined on the scoresheet.
In all EDPL Matches, there is NO "lagging" for the break, & there is NO "coin toss" for the break.
(..the only exception is.. a coin toss is used to determine the breaking order in a tie-breaker in FINALS, if the match is a draw). |
| Reminder - Umpire 45-Second Timing ! |
It was brought up in discussions at the Delegates Meeting lastnight, about the 45-second timing.
Some members are STILL unsure of the correct procedure.
Each shot MUST be timed, 45 seconds allowed per shot.
Umpires must use a 45-second timer, preferably an APP on their mobile phone, that counts from 45 seconds down.
Exactly AS 30 seconds has elapsed, "15 Seconds" warning must be called.
(NOT at 13 or 12 seconds remaining.. must be PRECISELY at 15 seconds remaining)
Also, there is NO "5-second countdown" in EDPL matches.
Please ensure all members are made aware of the correct timing procedures. |
| Reminder - Pool Stat - locking-in teams! |
It was brought to our attention at the EDPL Club Delegates Meeting lastnight, that some teams are entering opposition players & "locking-in" the opposition team in Pool Stat.
Team Captains - please only put in your OWN team players names & lock-in, UNLESS otherwise discussed and agreed with the opposition team captain (if assisting opposition captain, showing them what to do if they're unsure).
Teams must only "lock-in" their OWN team players.

Another Reminder…
* HOME Team is still required to enter match scores into the EDPL Website, BEFORE 10am on Wednesday after the match.
This particular requirement hasn’t changed !
* HOME Team is responsible for live-scoring on POOL STAT during the match.
* AWAY Team now to lodge official signed scoresheet.

| International Rules & 45-Seconds timing |
Hi EDPL Clubs & Members,
It has been brought to our attention again that some clubs/teams/members are still unsure of the INTERNATIONAL RULES !
This can cause confusion and disagreements on match nights, whilst playing and/or umpiring.
We have held numerous International Rules training sessions over the past couple of years since implementing IR, & EDPL Statistician Bobbie-Jo Quin has announced at Delegates Meetings that she’s able to conduct training sessions for any clubs/teams/members who need.
We have also been made aware this week that some teams/members are still unsure of the new 45 seconds timing procedures.
The International Rules, IR Referees Guide, and IR Calling Procedures documents are all on the EDPL website under "Documents+Forms".
Also, please refer to attached document re: By-Law changes – 45 seconds timing… the NEW changes are in red font.
It is most important that NEW members to EDPL are taught the International Rules and timing BEFORE they start playing in EDPL matches.
If any clubs/members require additional training or assistance, with International Rules or timing, please contact EDPL asap !

| 3 x EDPL Policies & Hearing Penalties |
EDPL Club Executives and Members,
EDPL has 3 x Policies which have been distributed to all clubs previously, and are on the EDPL Website (under Documents+Forms), as well as emailed out again today to all Clubs' Executives....
* Violence & Aggression Policy
* Member Protection Policy
* Social Media Policy
Along with the EDPL Tribunal/Hearing Penalty Guidelines document (attached).
Despite numerous reminders again this year, via the EDPL website, emails, & at club delegates meetings…. we are STILL receiving complaints from clubs about the bad behaviour & language of some clubs/teams/members !
We have already had 3 hearings so far just this year (in summer season) regarding incidents at EDPL matches (& finals).
Could club committees please remind all their members AGAIN about the above 3 policies, and that if a hearing is convened… what the possible consequences and penalties could be!
If a dispute occurs, please call both captains in & try to resolve the disagreement calmly and sensibly, there is absolutely NO need for aggression, bad language, or insults.

| Updated Fixtures 1st, 3rd, 4th Divisions |
We became aware of some issues with the fixtures, and have updated 1st, 3rd, & 4th Divisions Fixtures on the website.
Here are the changes made...
* 1ST DIVISION
2nd June = 5 x 4
4th Aug = 4 v 5
* 3RD DIVISION
5th May = 5 v 10
21st July = 10 v 5
* 4TH DIVISION
21st July = 4 v 7
21st July = 5 v 6
Please ensure clubs/teams/players are aware of these changes, & apologies for any confusion caused.

This Instruction Document has been emailed to all Club's Execs (along with team pins).

| 45-Seconds timing - Winter 2026 |
Please find attached By-Law changes relating to the new 45 Seconds timing method.
The 45 seconds timing was used during the recent Summer Season & finals,
& will be used this coming Winter Season too.
Please ensure all players are aware!

The 2026 EDPL Winter Season FIXTURES are now LIVE on the EDPL website (for Divisions 1,2,3,4). Premier Div Fixtures will be available soon!
* 2nd, 3rd, 4th Division - Season starts next Tuesday 7th April
* Premier & 1st Division - Season starts on Tuesday 21st April
There are 3 changes to the fixture, since it was issued last week in excel format...
5/5 - changed 4th Div - 7 v 6
11/8 - changed 4th Div - 1 v 6
1/9 - TBC (either at Burvale or Whitehorse Club)
REMINDER - 4 venues to start matches BY 7PM!
(Dorset Gardens Hotel, Ferntree Gully Hotel, Mitcham Hotel, Mt.View Hotel)

There are 4 pub venues where Matches MUST START BY 7:00 PM!
* DORSET GARDENS HOTEL
* FERNTREE GULLY HOTEL (2 tables)
* MITCHAM HOTEL (2 tables)
* MOUNTAIN VIEW HOTEL
MUST start by 7:00pm, as per venue management request.
Could you please ensure all players know, who play any matches at these 4 venues!
We highly recommend that ALL matches at ALL venues can start at 7pm, as per updated EDPL By-law 8.7...
"Matches shall commence NO LATER THAN 7:15PM [earlier starts, i.e. from 7.00pm are to be encouraged]."

| Winter Scoresheets Updated on website! |
Updated Winter 2026 Scoresheets are now on the Website, in the "Documents + Forms" Section.
* Div 1+2 - Amended breaks in last round in match (round 5), both teams now with 4 breaks each.
* Div 3+4 - Amended breaks to home/away/home/away (alternating rounds).
Also enlarged "Playing Order-Break Charts" on the website too. (for Divs 1+2, and Divs 3+4). These are handy to see clearly who is playing next, & who is breaking.
DDPL is running "Combined DDPL/EDPL Premier Division" in 2026, so the DDPL Prems scoresheets is on the website. |

| NO GAMBLING on EDPL matches or frames! |
It has been brought to our attention that some clubs and/or members are engaging in gambling/betting on EDPL matches and/or frames!
There is to be NO GAMBLING OR BETTING on EDPL matches or frames!
As per EDPL Constitution clauses 3.9 & 4.10...
Clause 3.9...
..."Member clubs are not permitted, under any circumstances, to engage in gambling on any EDPL sanctioned matches. It is a condition of membership that any clubs who become aware of gambling activity by
clubs, spectators or players, report such activity, in writing, to the
Executive Committee immediately".
Clause 4.10...
..."Members are not permitted, under any circumstances, to engage in gambling on any EDPL sanctioned matches. It is a condition of membership that any members who become aware of gambling activity by clubs, spectators or players, report such activity, in writing, to the Executive Committee immediately".
EDPL is issuing this reminder warning, so if another occurrence is brought to our attention... the club or player will be brought in for an EDPL Hearing. |
